Parsing Data Overview

You can parse data to identify logical elements in one input column and write these elements to multiple output columns.
Parsing data allows you to have greater control over the data quality of individual logical elements within data. For example, consider a data field that contains a person's full name, Bob Smith. You can use the Parser transformation to split the full name into separate data columns containing the first name and the last name. After you parse the data into separate logical elements, you can create custom data quality operations for each element.
You can configure the Parser transformation to use token sets to parse data columns into component strings. A token set identifies logical elements within data, such as words, ZIP codes, phone numbers, and Social Security numbers.
You can also use the Parser transformation to parse data that matches reference table entries or custom regular expressions that you enter.

    1. Hello There,

Nice to be visiting your blog again, it has been months for me. Well this article that i’ve been waited for so long.
Given this, I would be surprised to see anything on the test that was not covered in the modules, as it relates to the Cloud tool and topics covered about IDQ. I would presume questions that test general ETL transformation knowledge based on past Power Centre tool experience.
Once the data has been cleansed and standardized, duplicate records can be identified using various different matching techniques. This is also a developer
task performed in the Developer Tool.

But great job, do keep posted with the new updates.

      Kind Regards,
      Dolly

    1. Marhaba,

You make learning and reading addictive. All eyes fixed on you. Thank you being such a good and trust worthy guideInformatica Data quality training.

We are working on integration of SFDC (SalesForce CRM) with Exact Target(ET) (SalesForce Marketing Clound) through Informatica PowerCenter 9.5.1.
      But facing below issues:
      1) While importing SalesForce object into PowerCenter : Getting an error "timed out".
      2) How to connect to Exact target from power Center using API (we tested this from Java by passing proxy to webservie but not sure how to pass proxy to webservice in power Center).

Awesome! Thanks for putting this all in one place. Very useful!

      Many Thanks,
      Kevin

  5. Hi There,

Nice to be visiting your blog again, it has been months for me. Well this article that i’ve been waited for so long.

Is there any other study content beyond the information provided by the courses?
I"m about to schedule my exam (section 4 in the CDI certification), but wanted to ensure (or find out) if the exam will cover more then what is in the course content.

But nice Article Mate! Great Information! Keep up the good work!

    Many Thanks,

  6. Halo,

Smokin hot stuff! You’ve trimmed my dim. I feel as bright and fresh as your prolific website and blogs!

I have the same question. The short answer appears to be, no.

The general response I have received is that this is too new for there to be additional resources Informatica Data quality training USA such as those available for PowerCentre 9.x Developer or Administrator, as an example.
Great effort, I wish I saw it earlier. Would have saved my day :)
